Words for Wellbeing Collection

The Words for Wellbeing initiative is a partnership between North Queensland Primary Network, Mackay Base Hospital, Isaac Regional Council Libraries, Whitsunday Regional Libraries and Mackay Regional Council Libraries. It is based on the Words for Wellbeing initiative developed by Metro South Health - Redland Hospital, West Moreton Hospital and Health Service, City of Ipswich, Redland City Council, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, Somerset Regional Council, Scenic Rim Regional Council and Townsville Regional Council Libraries.

Visit the Mackay Regional Council Libraries for more information and to view the entire collection.

This initiative does not replace professional care from your doctor.

If you feel that you may have a mental or physical health issue, it is important that you make an appointment with your doctor or healthcare provider. Your doctor will make an assessment and provide you with a specific diagnosis and an individualised healthcare treatment plan. Your treatment plan may involve some education around your particular health condition. As part of this patient education and treatment plan, your doctor or health practitioner may recommend one or more titles from the “Words for Wellbeing” list.
